I don't teach you to relax, I create the conditions so your body remembers how.

Most of us have been taught that relaxation is something we achieve. We 'try' hard to relax, 'try' hard to breathe deeper, tell ourselves to 'just let go and chill.' And then we get frustrated when it doesn’t happen.

Somewhere in all that trying, we kinda miss the point.

The nervous system doesn’t respond to effort. It responds to safety.

That’s what a sound bath actually is, underneath the crystal bowls, the Koshi bells, and the silence between notes. It’s an invitation, not a command or a technique. An invitation for your body to rest, maybe for the first time in a very long time.

When I run a session, I’m creating conditions and the space through sound, and a little breath work that allow your body to choose it. Because your body already knows how.

Your body knew how to relax and settle before the stress, before the rushing and busyness of life, before the endless to-do lists. It just needs reminding.

It’s not about fixing anything. It’s about allowing your system to feel safe enough to remember.

And if you’ve been to a sound bath before and found it hard to switch off, that’s completely okay. Your body just wasn’t ready yet. Not because anything was missing, but because we all move at our own pace when it comes to slowing down.

So next time you’re at a sound bath, know there’s nothing you need to do.

You don’t need to try to relax and there is nothing you need to make happen.

Just experience it, moment by moment.

Each time is simply another invitation for your body to feel safe.

And the safer your body feels, the easier it becomes to relax.

How lovely is that.
